Business visa

Support with business visa applications for meetings, conferences and trade visits.

A business visa is usually for short trips abroad for meetings, conferences, trade fairs and similar activities, without taking up a job there. We help individuals and companies with business travel and corporate visa applications.

Who can apply

  • Business owners, executives and employees travelling for meetings, negotiations or site visits
  • Professionals attending conferences, trade fairs or training events, where the destination allows this on a business visa
  • Companies arranging trips for several employees
  • Frequent business travellers, who may be able to apply for a longer or multiple-entry visa, depending on the country

Key requirements

Each country sets its own rules. Depending on your destination and profile, you will usually need:

  • A clear business purpose that does not involve working for an employer in that country (for a job abroad, see work visa assistance)
  • An invitation letter from the company or organisation you are visiting
  • A covering letter from your employer or your own business that confirms the trip and who pays for it
  • Evidence of your company’s standing and your own finances
  • Travel insurance where the destination asks for it

Documents usually required

  • Your current passport, and older passports if you have travelled before
  • An invitation letter from the host company, with their contact details
  • A covering letter from your employer on company letterhead
  • Company registration and GST documents, if you run your own business
  • Bank statements and income tax returns
  • Conference or trade fair registration, if it applies
  • Flight and hotel reservations

The exact checklist depends on your profile and the current embassy, VFS or other official checklist for your destination. Miras confirms it with you at consultation.

How the application works

  1. Book a consultation. Tell us who is travelling, where, when and why, and we confirm that a business visa is the right category.
  2. Document assessment. We review invitation letters, company documents and finances, and point out gaps before you apply.
  3. Application submission. We help you prepare each application and the supporting letters, and guide you through appointments where needed.
  4. Visa processing support. Track progress with our guidance, whether one person is travelling or a whole team.

Processing time

Processing times vary by country, season and the details of your case, and the embassy or immigration authority sets them, not Miras. We share the current published estimate for your destination at consultation, so you can plan your dates. For events with fixed dates, start as soon as you have the invitation.

How Miras helps

  • We confirm the right category when a trip mixes business and leisure (see tourist visa assistance)
  • We explain what invitation and covering letters usually need to cover, and check them before you apply
  • We coordinate applications for several employees travelling together
  • We book flights and hotels that match your itinerary

The decision on your visa always rests with the embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Our job is to help you submit a complete, accurate application and keep you informed along the way.

Information last reviewed . Visa rules change often — we confirm the current checklist with you at consultation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a business visa and a work visa?

A business visa is usually for short visits such as meetings, negotiations, conferences or trade fairs, where you are not employed by a company in that country. A work visa is for taking up a job there.

Exactly which activities are allowed differs by country, so tell us what you will do on the trip. For employment abroad, see our work visa page.

Do I need an invitation letter for a business visa?

Embassies usually expect an invitation letter from the company or organisation you are visiting, along with a covering letter from your employer or your own business.

We explain what these letters usually need to cover, such as the purpose, the dates and who pays for the trip, and check them before you apply.

Can you handle business visa applications for our employees?

Yes. We help companies with business travel and corporate visa applications, whether one person is travelling or a whole team.

Share the travellers, destinations and dates, and we set out the documents each applicant needs. We can also arrange air tickets and hotel bookings for the trip.
